Qatar condemns renewed Iranian attacks and affirms Iis right to self-defence
The State of Qatar strongly condemns the renewed military attacks carried out by the Islamic Republic of Iran against Qatari territory, as well as against the territories of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Kingdom of Bahrain, and the State of Kuwait.
Qatar considers these attacks a flagrant violation of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the targeted states, a serious breach of international law and the Charter of the United Nations, and a direct challenge to the principles of good neighborliness.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned that the continuation of such aggression constitutes a dangerous escalation that risks widening regional tensions and undermining political and diplomatic efforts to achieve security and stability. It held the Islamic Republic of Iran fully responsible under international law for the attacks and for all resulting consequences.
The Ministry affirmed that Qatar reserves its full right to respond in accordance with international law and Article 51 of the United Nations Charter and to take all necessary measures to protect its sovereignty, national security, territorial integrity, citizens, and residents.
Qatar also renewed its full solidarity with Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait and expressed its support for all legitimate measures taken by the three countries to safeguard their sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
The Ministry called for an immediate and complete cessation of all military operations and acts of aggression threatening regional peace and stability. It urged all parties to refrain from actions that could further expand the conflict and stressed the need for a serious return to dialogue and negotiations, with full respect for the understandings reached through diplomatic efforts.
