Messages of condolence have continued to pour in from ambassadors and diplomatic missions in Doha following the passing of His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani.

Turkiye
The ambassador of Türkiye to Qatar, Dr Mustafa Göksu, has conveyed his condolences, as well as those of the Turkish leadership and people, to Qatar, saying: "With hearts that submit to the will and decree of Almighty God, we received with profound sorrow the news of the passing of the HH the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, may Allah bestow His infinite mercy upon him, who passed away in Doha this morning, leaving behind an enduring legacy of achievement and nation-building, and a distinguished record among the world's great statesmen.”
He noted that: "As we mourn today one of the greatest leaders of Qatar, the Islamic world, and the wider region, we remember a towering figure in contemporary history. HH the late Father Amir was a statesman of exceptional stature who led his country through a defining period of its history, laying the foundations of a modern and confident nation. Under his visionary leadership, Qatar emerged as a respected global actor, a distinguished presence on the international stage, and a steadfast voice on the issues of greatest importance to the Arab and Islamic worlds."
Dr Göksu stressed: "His Highness was not merely a ruler; he was the architect of a national renaissance, a patron of knowledge and progress, and a decisive leader endowed with remarkable foresight. His vision anticipated the future, while his wisdom enabled him to understand the world's changing dynamics long before they unfolded.
"Throughout his life, HH the late Father Amir remained a steadfast champion of Islamic causes, advocating with conviction for justice and righteousness. In Palestine, his voice stood firmly in support of the Palestinian people and as a pillar of solidarity with Gaza. His unwavering commitment to Jerusalem reflected his enduring principles, and wherever injustice prevailed, he stood as a leader of courage and integrity, never wavering in his support for what was right. He embodied the belief that the dignity of nations is safeguarded by the steadfastness of their principles rather than the size of their territories."
He said: "His greatness was equally reflected in his humanity, humility, and closeness to his people, who held him in genuine affection and deep respect. To the people of Qatar, he was a father before he was their Amir, sharing in both their joys and their sorrows. His generosity and humanitarian initiatives extended far beyond Qatar's borders. He carried the concerns of his nation and the wider Islamic world with sincerity and worked tirelessly to promote peace, resolve conflicts, and advance stability and prosperity.
"As I stand before this profound loss in my capacity as Ambassador of the Republic of Turkiye to the sisterly State of Qatar, I recall with the deepest appreciation the historic friendship that united HH the late Father Amir with President Recep Tayyip Erdogan. During the period when President Erdoğan served as Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkiye, the two leaders worked with determination and a shared strategic vision to elevate Turkish-Qatari relations to an exceptional level.”
