Ukraine has conveyed its condolences to Qatar, honouring His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani as "a statesman of historic stature.” "On behalf of the Embassy of Ukraine in the State of Qatar and on my own behalf, I extend my deepest condolences to His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, the al-Thani family, and the people of Qatar on the passing of His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani,” Ambassador Andrii Kuzmenko said Sunday.
Kuzmenko said, "His Highness the Father Amir was a statesman of historic stature whose visionary leadership shaped modern Qatar and strengthened its standing on the regional and international stage. "Ukraine will always remember with gratitude his personal contribution to laying the foundations of Ukrainian-Qatari relations, built on friendship, mutual respect and sincere partnership.”
The ambassador added: "In recognition of this contribution, he was awarded the Order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise, First Class, one of Ukraine’s highest state honours. His legacy will endure in Qatar’s achievements and continue to inspire generations to come.”
