From developing business ideas and creating brands to learning about pricing, marketing and sales, children aged 8 to 12 will put their entrepreneurial skills to the test at Dadu’s Startup Club Final Market on August 26 and 27. According to Qatar Museums (QM), the two-day event will take place from 3pm to 6pm at the Teen Hub, previously known as Expo House, and will mark the culmination of Dadu’s inaugural summer entrepreneurship programme for children. Launched on July 7, QM said the Dadu Startup Club has been held every Tuesday over eight sessions at Dadu Gardens, introducing participants to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship through hands-on activities,teamwork and creative challenges. Throughout the programme, QM noted that the young participants have developed their own business ideas and created brand identities, including logos and product packaging. They have also learned the basics of budgeting, pricing and profit, while exploring marketing and communication strategies. The children have designed and developed products that they will present at the final market, giving them an opportunity to apply what they have learned by pitching their ideas and selling their creations. QM said the programme is designed to foster creativity, innovation, collaboration, confidence and problem-solving, while encouraging children to think about business in a practical and engaging way. The final market will feature a range of products developed by the young entrepreneurs. Visitors will be able to explore their projects, hear their business pitches and support the participants by purchasing their products. Dadu said the event celebrates the creativity, innovation and entrepreneurial skills the children have developed throughout the programme. In an Instagram post, Dadu said the young participants had spent the past several weeks on a journey of “ideas, experimentation, and learning” as they developed their products and gained new entrepreneurial skills.It encouraged the public to visit the final market at the Teen Hub, discover the children’s projects and products, and support the “next generation of entrepreneurs.” The Startup Club is being offered for the first time as part of Dadu’s summer programming, giving children an opportunity to explore creativity, innovation and business in a supportive, interactive environment.
