Qatar Chamber participates in Arab-German Chamber board meeting, general assembly in Berlin
Qatar Chamber chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani has led a delegation to the joint meeting of the executive office and the board of directors, as well as the General Assembly Meeting of the Arab-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Ghorfa).
The meetings were held in Berlin Wednesday, coinciding with Ghorfa’s 50th anniversary. Sheikh Khalifa, who is also Ghorfa first vice-chairman, was accompanied by board members Dr Khaled bin Klefeekh al-Hajri and Mohamed bin Ahmed al-Obaidli, alongside acting general manager Ali Bu Sherbak al-Mansouri.
Sheikh Khalifa said: "We are pleased to participate in these important meetings, which coincide with the 50th anniversary of Ghorfa’s establishment.
"Over the past five decades, Ghorfa has played a vital role in strengthening economic relations between Germany and the Arab countries and has provided valuable services to the business communities on both sides.”
Sheikh Khalifa added: "The chamber has also made a significant contribution to supporting Qatari businesses by facilitating connections with German companies, promoting trade and investment opportunities, and enhancing cooperation between the private sectors of Qatar and Germany.
"We look forward to further strengthening Arab-German economic partnerships and building on Ghorfa’s remarkable achievements and successful legacy in the years ahead.”
The meetings reviewed the secretary general’s report on Ghorfa’s activities in 2025 and approved the chamber’s 2027 budget. Participants also discussed Ghorfa’s planned activities and programmes for 2026 and 2027.
Discussions further focused on economic relations between Germany and the Arab world, with participants emphasising the importance of enhancing trade and investment exchanges, expanding cooperation opportunities, and strengthening partnerships between the private sectors on both sides.
