The Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra (QPO) has announced the launch of its 2026 National Community Engagement Programme—a wide-ranging effort to place world-class orchestral music at the heart of Qatar’s diverse communities, schools, and social fabric.
The programme marks a defining chapter in QPO’s mission to serve not only concert-hall audiences, but every resident of Qatar from the youngest student taking their first steps in music, to families and communities seeking connection and solace through the universal language of sound.
The programme officially kicked off with QPO’s Brass Ensemble, which hosted three dedicated sessions at Hamilton International School, Doha. The timing of this programme is intentional and deeply felt. In a period of heightened uncertainty in the region, QPO recognises its responsibility to contribute to the psychological and emotional well-being of Qatar’s communities. Through this programme, QPO extends these benefits directly to the children, families, and institutions who need them most.
The Community Engagement Programme spans the full breadth of Doha’s international community. Across Spring 2026, QPO musician ensembles will visit a diverse range of schools and institutions, offering tailored performances and educational workshops that honour both rich traditions of classical music and the multicultural identity of Qatar’s residents. The programme encompasses flagship pillars including Healing Notes — therapeutic music experiences for hospitals, special needs centres and vulnerable communities — Community Resonance — school visits and public performances across Doha — and RE:POSE — an immersive orchestral wellness concert concept designed to promote relaxation, mindfulness, and mental restoration through the power of live music.

Through our presence in schools, the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra aims to grow alongside the community and strengthen Qatar’s cultural voice for the next generation. With over 20 musician group visits planned across Doha’s leading international and Qatari schools, the scale and ambition of this programme represents the most comprehensive community engagement effort in QPO’s history.
This month’s schedule alone spans a rich cross-section of Qatar’s educational community, with confirmed visits to Doha College, Doha English Speaking School, Tarek Bin Ziad School, Turkish School, Arab International School (Lusail and Al Sadd branches), and Hamilton International School — together representing thousands of students from Qatar’s diverse expatriate and national communities.
