HH The Amir inaugurates the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani,graciously inaugurated the ninth edition of the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition and Conference (DIMDEX 2026) this morning at the Qatar National Convention Centre.

The ceremony began with the playing of the national anthem, followed by a film about the Qatari Armed Forces and their local and international role and missions. Then, His Excellency Major General (Navy) Abdullah bin Hassan Al-Sulaiti, Commander of the Qatari Amiri Naval Forces, delivered a speech on this occasion.

Following that, His Highness the Amir toured the exhibition, during which he was briefed on the latest technologies, equipment and technologies used in the maritime defense and security sector, which are displayed by local and international companies, and companies that manufacture and supply technological systems in naval shipbuilding, communications systems, radars, missiles, sea mines, cyber security, anti-piracy, artificial intelligence and other maritime industries and services specializing in the military defence system.

The opening was attended by a number of Their Excellencies the Sheikhs, Ministers, senior security and military officials, and  the Ministers who were guests of the conference from brotherly and friendly countries.
