Qatar expresses deep regret over embassy building damage due to Kyiv shelling
The State of Qatar expressed today deep regret over the damage sustained by its embassy building in Ukraine as a result of the shelling of the capital Kyiv last night, affirming that no diplomats or embassy staff were harmed.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed in a statement today the importance of sparing embassies, diplomatic missions, headquarters of international organization and civilian facilities from the repercussions of crises, and to protect its members in line with international law.
The ministry renewed the State of Qatar's firm position calling for a resolution to the Russian-Ukrainian crisis through peaceful means, in line with the principles of international law and the UN Charter. It also expressed the State of Qatar's backing for all international efforts aimed at de-escalation.
