The Ministry of Justice, in collaboration with the Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC), will host the inaugural Doha Legal Forum under the theme "Emerging Trends and Forward-Looking Insights” from January 26-27 at the Marsa Malaz Kempinski, The Pearl Island.
The event, under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani, aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 and the Ministry of Justice Strategy 2025–2030.
The forum will welcome high-level participation from ministers of justice, legal scholars, policymakers, and experts from around the world, reflecting Qatar’s growing standing as a centre for international legal dialogue and exchange.
The forum aims to highlight the key features of Qatar’s legislative and regulatory environment and its role in attracting foreign investment, through focused discussions on investment-related legal frameworks, emerging technologies, governance, and mechanisms for resolving investment disputes under Qatari law. It will also showcase the legislative and institutional measures adopted to address legal challenges that may affect investment, reinforcing confidence in the business environment and supporting sustainable development and economic transformation.
As a leading international platform, the Doha Legal Forum seeks to strengthen the rule of law, explore future directions in legislation and judicial practice, and highlight the legal frameworks governing key economic sectors and their role in creating a secure and attractive investment environment.
The forum will also provide opportunities to exchange expertise and discuss recent developments in both Qatari law and comparative legal systems.
As the largest legal event to be held in Qatar, the forum holds particular significance in clarifying the legislative and regulatory characteristics of vital and emerging sectors, enabling investors to better understand the applicable legal frameworks. It also promotes constructive dialogue between government entities, the private sector, and legal experts, contributing to improvements in the business environment and supporting public–private partnerships.
The forum aims to deliver practical recommendations that contribute to legislative development in line with international standards, support domestic and foreign investment, address legal challenges related to digital transformation and artificial intelligence, strengthen governance and transparency, and advance legal frameworks across the financial, corporate, and energy sectors.
Together, these efforts seek to foster a stable and reliable business environment and reinforce Qatar’s position as a regional and global legal hub supporting economic growth and sustainable development.
