HH The Amir and the Saudi Crown Prince chair the eighth meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council

His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and his brother,Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, co-chaired the eighth meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council today at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia welcomed His Highness the Amir and the accompanying delegation to Riyadh, emphasizing the strong and historic fraternal relations between Qatar and Saudi Arabia. He commended the role of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council in supporting and strengthening relations between the two countries and affirmed his country's commitment to developing and enhancing these relations to serve the interests of both brotherly peoples.

For his part, His Highness the Amir expressed his gratitude to his brother, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, for the warm welcome and generous hospitality. He expressed his pleasure at visiting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for the eighth meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council, noting that the agreements signed by the two countries during this visit reflect the high level of partnership and cooperation between them. His Highness also affirmed the State of Qatar's commitment to strengthening its fraternal cooperation with Saudi Arabia in a way that fulfills the aspirations of both brotherly peoples and supports security, peace, and prosperity in the region.

During the meeting, the fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries were discussed, along with ways to strengthen and develop them across various partnership sectors, particularly priority areas including political, security, military, energy, industrial, economic, investment, trade, technology, infrastructure, culture, tourism, and education. The meeting also addressed the latest developments concerning issues of mutual interest on the regional and international stages.

His Highness the Amir and his brother, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, witnessed the exchange of an agreement on a high-speed electric rail link between the two governments, a memorandum of understanding between the Investment Promotion Agency of the State of Qatar and the Ministry of Investment of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for cooperation in promoting direct investment, and a memorandum of understanding in the field of food security between the Ministry of Municipality of the State of Qatar and the General Authority for Food Security of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

The meeting was attended by His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Sheikh Khalifa bin Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Minister of Interior and Commander of the Internal Security Force "Lekhwiya”, His Excellency Mr. Abdullah bin Mohammed Al Khulaifi, Chief of the Amiri Diwan, His Excellency Mr. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Finance, His Excellency Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani, Minister of Culture, His Excellency Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Thani, Minister of Sports and Youth, His Excellency Sheikh Faisal bin Thani Al Thani, Minister of Commerce and Industry, His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdullah Al Thani, Minister of Transport, His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Hassan Al Hammadi, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz Al Khulaifi, Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and a number of Their Excellencies the Ministers who are members of the official delegation accompanying His Highness the Amir.

The meeting was attended on the Saudi side by Crown Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of Energy; Prince Turki bin Mohammed bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Minister of State and Member of the Council of Ministers; Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef Al Saud, Minister of Interior; Prince Faisal bin Farhan bin Abdullah Al Saud, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan Al Saud, Minister of Culture; Dr. Musaed bin Mohammed Al-Aiban, Minister of State, Member of the Council of Ministers, and National Security Advisor; Dr. Majid bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi, Minister of Commerce; Mohammed bin Abdullah Al-Jadaan, Minister of Finance; Eng. Khalid bin Abdulaziz Al-Falih, Minister of Investment; Faisal bin Fadhel Al-Ibrahim, Minister of Economy and Planning; Salman bin Yousef Al-Dosari, Minister of Media; and a number of other ministers and senior officials.

Following this, His Highness The Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, and his brother,Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, signed the minutes of the eighth meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council.

His Highness the Amir and his brother, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia, held a bilateral meeting prior to the meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council, during which they discussed a number of issues of common interest.

The Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Saudi Arabia hosted a luncheon in honor of His Highness the Amir and his accompanying official delegation.
