QTM 2025 kicks off with industry participation, cultural showcases

Qatar Tourism chairman Saad bin Ali al-Kharji has underscored the future of global tourism, innovation, and the increasing importance of sustainable development across the travel sector during today opening ceremony of Qatar Travel Mart (QTM) 2025.
The event, which will run until November 26 at the Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC), was officially opened by the Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Sheikh Faisal bin Thani bin Faisal al-Thani, in the presence of key officials from Qatar’s public and private sectors.
Opening day witnessed the participation of thousands of industry professionals, exhibitors, and international delegates. With attendance surpassing last year’s record and featuring more than 60 participating countries, QTM 2025 reaffirmed its position as one of the region’s most influential travel and tourism events.
The event saw delegates exploring national pavilions, engaging in strategic meetings, and attending key sessions that set the tone for the remainder of the exhibition.
A major highlight of QTM 2025 was at the Global Village, a cultural focal point where visitors experience an array of traditions, performances, and handcrafted products representing more than 12 countries. The space brought together vibrant expressions of cultural identity, allowing attendees to explore authentic stories, cuisines, and artistic showcases, reinforcing QTM’s commitment to celebrating global diversity.
The event is expected to play a central role today (November 25), offering a full agenda of panel discussions, keynote presentations, and workshops. Topics covered included sustainable tourism models, the rise of digital transformation in the hospitality industry, the evolution of traveller expectations, and the expanding role of health, wellness, and cultural experiences in global travel trends.
