Tunisia intensifies efforts to secure return of citizens detained in Gaza Sumud Flotilla

Tunisian President Kais Saied affirmed on Friday that his country is intensifying diplomatic efforts to secure the release of Tunisian nationals detained by Israeli forces during the interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla, which sought to break the blockade on the Gaza Strip.During a meeting with Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti, President Saied said Tunisia has been engaged in intensive diplomatic contacts for several days without interruption, stressing the need to redouble efforts to ensure the safe return of the detained citizens as soon as possible.According to Tunisian authorities, 30 Tunisians were among those detained in the flotilla, which included dozens of ships carrying activists from more than 45 countries, aiming to deliver humanitarian aid and press for an end to the blockade imposed on Gaza.
