Cybercrime Task Force for Middle East and North Africa convenes in Doha

The 15th meeting of the Middle East and North Africa Cybercrime Task Force for unit heads kicked off yesterday in Doha.The three-day event, hosted by the Ministry of Interior (MoI), is organised by the Cybercrime Directorate of the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol).The opening session was attended by HE Assistant Undersecretary for Technical and Specialised Affairs at the MoI, Staff Major-General Abdullah bin Mohammed al-Suwaidi, along with senior officials and representatives from member states and relevant organisations.The meeting aims to strengthen regional operational co-operation between Interpol and member countries by addressing current challenges in combating cybercrimes, while also fostering the exchange of expertise and best practices.This meeting holds special significance with the launch of the first joint operation by Interpol's regional cybercrime office, aimed at curbing electronic crimes within a co-ordinated legal framework. – QNA
