UDST welcomes 2,000 students for 2026-27 academic year
The University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST) officially welcomed 2,000 students, with Qatari students representing 25%, for the 2026-27 academic year, marking the beginning of another year of applied learning, innovation, and student success.This year, UDST continues to expand its academic offerings and strengthen its role as Qatar’s national university for applied education. With five dynamic colleges, UDST now offers more than 80 academic programmes across the fields of Business, Computing and Information Technology, Engineering and Technology, Health Sciences, and General Education, providing students with diverse pathways that respond to national priorities and the evolving needs of industry.To support Qatar’s growing knowledge economy and workforce development, UDST introduced a new portfolio of specialised academic programmes for this academic year. These include the Executive Master of Health Administration in collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health and the University of Ottawa in Canada, and the Master of Science in Midwifery. **media[482831]**In addition, in co-operation with the Ministry of Municipality, UDST launched the Bachelor of Science and Diploma in Animal Health and Veterinary Science to prepare highly qualified talent capable of meeting the diverse needs of Qatar's key sectors. Students may also benefit from the Ministry of Education and Higher Education’s In-Country Scholarship, available for many UDST programmes.To mark the beginning of the academic journey, the University hosted “Ahlan” a campus-wide orientation event welcoming its newest cohort of students. The event introduced students to campus life, academic resources, and support services through interactive sessions with faculty members, college deans, and representatives from key student support divisions, including Admissions and Registration, Student Central Services, Sport and Wellness, and Counselling and Accessibility Services.As part of its ongoing commitment to enhancing student experience, UDST continues to offer a range of initiatives that support student success from the very beginning of university life.
