Palestinian President, Spanish PM discuss developments in occupied territories

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas held a phone call with Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and the latest developments in Gaza and the West Bank.During the call, President Abbas emphasized the urgent need for an immediate ceasefire and the delivery of humanitarian aid to prevent famine, displacement, and killings.He also called for the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from Gaza and stressed the importance of halting settlement expansion, settler violence, and annexation efforts in the West Bank.Sanchez reaffirmed Spain's commitment to supporting peace based on the two-state solution, aiming to ensure security and stability in the region and the world.He reiterated the importance of convening the International Peace Conference and continuing the work of the Global Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution and mobilize support for recognizing the State of Palestine.
