The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MoECC)'s Department of Land Protection has carried out a comprehensive cleanup campaign in the central region, covering Rawdat Muither Al-Darb, Al-Riffa, and north of Abu Nakhla, as part of the field campaign project targeting rawdat (meadows) and land areas across the country. The aim is to raise public environmental awareness and encourage visitors to adopt proper practices to preserve the natural environment, particularly protecting the green cover and ensuring the sustainability of the meadows as natural destinations frequented by visitors for leisure and recreation. The MoECC affirmed that these field campaigns are part of its ongoing efforts to preserve the natural environment and reduce negative practices resulting from leaving waste in undesignated areas, noting that its field teams regularly monitor and follow up on terrestrial areas. The ministry has called on all visitors to the desert meadows and land sites to refrain from leaving waste behind and to dispose of it in designated areas only to help maintain the beauty of nature and protect the local ecosystem.
