Former champions Al Rayyan will take on promotion winners Al Sailiya in the Qatar Stars League (QSL) 2025/26 season opener on August 14 at the Ahmad bin Ali Stadium.The league’s organising committee has released the schedule of the first eleven game weeks yesterday, including complete details of the first three, giving teams and their fans a chance to start planning more than a month before the start of the season, which will feature 12 sides.Timings for the rest of the games of the weeks will be determined following the draws of the Asian club competitions and regional tournaments, as well as the national team’s schedule.On August 16 champions, Al Sadd will take Qatar SC at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium while runners-up Al Duhail will start their campaign against Al Shahania at KHalif International Stadium. Amir Cup champions Al Gharafa will meet Umm Salal on August 15 at Al Bayt Stadium. On the first day of the season, Al Shamal will also play against Al Ahli at Khalifa International Stadium. Al Arabi will meet Al Wakrah at Al Thumama Stadium on August 15.Al Sadd won the league title last season with 52 points, two points ahead of Al Duhail, who came in second with 50 points, while Al Gharafa came in third with 41 points.The schedule for the second half of the season will be determined according to the national team schedule. The Qatar National Team is set to play the World Cup Qualifiers play-off in October, followed by the FIFA Arab Cup at home in December, in addition to the friendlies during international windows.Al Sadd and Al Gharafa have already qualified for the AFC Champions League Elite, whereas Al Duhail will face Iran’s Sepahan for a place in the continental club competition. Al Ahli will compete in the AFC Champions League Two, with Al Rayyan set to compete in the Arabian Gulf Club Champions League.The first international window will be from September 1-9, the second from October 6-14, followed by the third from November 10-18. The Arab Cup will be held during the league’s winter break.The clubs are set to start their pre-season preparations on July 1.
