As part of its ongoing efforts to promote health awareness in the society, Qatar Cancer Society (QCS) is launching a new sustainable programme titled ‘Trail of Wellness’ on its social media platforms from the holy month of Ramadan.The programme aims to provide health tips to followers, focusing on proper nutrition, exercise, and disease prevention.Batool Ibrahim, a nutritionist at QCS said: "‘Trail of Wellness’ consists of a series of episodes filmed in various locations, including shopping centres, to help reach a broader audience. The programme encourages individuals to adopt a healthy lifestyle by providing practical and direct solutions that they can easily apply in their daily lives.”"The programme acts as an interactive platform with the community, featuring surveys and open-ended questions posed to the public in various public spaces. Its goal is to assess the community’s awareness and understanding of nutritional guidelines, while also identifying the obstacles individuals may face in adopting a healthy lifestyle."Additionally, it provides an opportunity to clarify any misconceptions, ensuring the delivery of clearer and more accurate health messages,” she noted.Batool added, "Through ‘Trail of Wellness’ we aim to motivate the Qatari community to take positive steps towards improving their health, believing that knowledge is power, and spreading accurate information can help individuals make better health decisions and promote a healthy lifestyle that contributes to disease prevention, especially cancer.”The ‘Trail of Wellness’ programme covers several key topics, including proper nutrition, foods that improve cognitive function, foods that help in the prevention of breast cancer, the importance of soy products in the diet, and their potential impact on disease prevention, among other topics.
