An exhibition, "Jan Gemrot: In the Realm of Falcons and Horses”, has opened at Katara – the Cultural Village as part of the ongoing Katara International Arabian Horse Festival 2025.Katara general manager Prof Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti inaugurated the exhibition on Sunday.Internationally renowned artist Gemrot is one of the most prominent painters in modern art in Central Europe.The exhibition offers an exceptional artistic experience, as Gemrot’s paintings provoke thought about the contemporary world.His works are rooted in realism but infused with distinctive artistic creativity, blending a personal vision of the rise and fall of human culture, the origins of nature and ancient art, and the impact of modern technologies.In this new collection, the artist explores aspects of traditional Arab culture, particularly the deep admiration for horses and falcons.With his artistic ingenuity and technical mastery, Gemrot creates a visual effect that immerses viewers in his paintings, making them feel as though they are part of the artwork.Czech ambassador to Qatar Peter Chalupsky noted that the exhibition features an artistic collection that marries traditional themes of falcons and horses with contemporary creativity, enhanced by the unique artistic touch of the young artist Gemrot, who is one of the most celebrated artists of his generation in the Czech Republic.Gemrot has aid that this exhibition reflects the cycle of the human psyche.His paintings also incorporate elements of dynamism and movement, inspired by the shared cultural passion for horses and falcons.He added that some works were specifically created to embody this legacy.
