More falcons on Monday qualified for the finals of the Haddad Al-Tahaddi Championship at the 16th edition of the Qatar International Falcons and Hunting Festival (Marmi 2025).The festival, organised by Al Gannas Qatari Society and sponsored by HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani, with support from the Social and Sports Activities Support Fund (Daam), runs until Feb 1.According to a statement from Marmi, the number of qualified falcons for finals reached 26. The qualifiers for Group 23 of the Haddad Al-Tahaddi Championship will be held Tuesday, to finalise the list of qualifiers for the final on January 31 at Sabkhat Marmi in Sealine. The top prize is a Lexus car.On Monday, the festival witnessed the competitions of Group 22 in the Haddad Al-Tahaddi Championship between falcons and carrier pigeons.Marmi chairman Metaib Mubarak al-Qahtani and vice chairman Abdul Wahab bin Omair al-Nuaimi crowned the winners and those who qualified for the finals. They received a cash prize of QR 100,000 in addition to the shield. Shawi al-Kaabi, head of the Haddad Al-Tahaddi Committee said the competition was strong in Group 22, which resulted in the qualification of three falconers.
