Qatar Charity delivered extensive humanitarian and development assistance in Burkina Faso throughout 2025, benefiting 284,257 people across various regions of the country, implemented through over 230 projects. Qatar Charity’s interventions focused on improving living standards and strengthening community resilience by combining long-term development initiatives with emergency responses, reflecting its unwavering commitment to humanitarian excellence. The projects covered vital sectors such as water and sanitation, education, health, food security, housing, and emergency response, with special attention supporting internally displaced persons (IDPs) and vulnerable families, in addition to orphan sponsorships. Qatar Charity implemented three projects in the water sector, benefiting 9,000 people through the provision of safe drinking water, construction of sanitation facilities, and hygiene awareness campaigns. To strengthen social cohesion, Qatar Charity completed 11 projects for building mosques and Qur’an memorisation centres, benefiting 1,681 people. In education, Qatar Charity carried out one school construction project, benefiting 120 students, aimed at expanding access to education and reducing dropout rates. Under seasonal projects, Qatar Charity provided food assistance to 208,034 people through Ramadan food baskets and Eid al-Adha meat distributions. Additionally, two emergency relief projects supported 12,900 IDPs with food and non-food items. Through its ‘Rofaqa’ initiative, Qatar Charity currently sponsors 8,282 orphans in Burkina Faso, ensuring access to education, nutrition, and healthcare. Qatar Charity implemented 215 integrated projects to support IDPs and vulnerable families, including the provision of relief kits, tricycles, cooking tools, school desks, tents, mills, and sewing machines. These projects benefited 44,240 IDPs and needy families. President Ibrahim Traore praised Qatar Charity’s significant role in supporting development and resettlement efforts for displaced persons in Burkina Faso, affirming that its interventions align with the country’s national strategy. This came during his meeting with Qatar Charity’s team at the presidential palace. Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Cdt, Passowende Pelagie Kabore emphasised that Qatar Charity is a trusted partner of the Burkinabe government, noting that its interventions are consistent with the country’s humanitarian and development goals and the vision of the president. Khadija Zongo, director general of the Office for NGOs, stated that Qatar Charity is among the best humanitarian organisations operating in the country. She highlighted her visits to several Qatar Charity projects and participation in its activities, stressing that the government gives special attention to its interventions.
