Qatar participated in the first High-Level Global Roundtable on ICT Security Capacity-Building, held at United Nations (UN) Headquarters in New York. The Qatari delegation was headed by HE Engineer Abdulrahman bin Ali al-Farahid al-Malki, president of the National Cyber Security Agency (NCSA). In his speech during the main panel discussion titled 'Building Cyber Resilience for Sustainable Development by Bridging the Global Capacity Gap,' he emphasised Qatar's readiness to share its expertise in building capabilities at the national level. HE al-Malki also participated in the first sub-session titled 'Enhancing Governance Policies and Processes' as an official speaker during which he highlighted Qatar’s experience in developing national strategies. The high-level meeting was attended by senior officials from the UN Member States concerned with the field of ICT security, and a number of representatives from countries. The meeting focused on unifying efforts and visions to enhance international capabilities in information security and cyber security. On the sidelines of the meeting, HE the NCSA president met with HE Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif al-Thani, Permanent Representative of Qatar to the UN. He also conducted bilateral meetings with heads of cybersecurity entities in both Jordan and Singapore with the aim of enhancing bilateral cooperation in relevant fields.
