Under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohamed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani, the 11th edition of Qatar's International Agricultural Exhibition – AgriteQ 2024 – will begin on Wednesday at the Horticultural Expo 2023 Doha, with the participation of several local and international agricultural entities and companies.The AgriteQ supports local farmers and the local agricultural product by displaying modern agricultural techniques and exploring new horizons for improving the Qatari agricultural sector, which plays an important role in raising self-sufficiency rates in certain commodities and foodstuffs.It is a platform for promoting agricultural and technological investments in Qatar and strengthens trade ties with participating countries.The countries participating in Expo 2023 Doha will have a vital role in enriching and making the exhibition a success, offering an exceptional opportunity to enhance co-operation between Qatar and these countries.The exhibition will feature diverse events and activities in agricultural, animal, cultural and entertainment fields.The Ministry of Municipality has stated that organising this exhibition underscores the state's increasing interest in the agricultural sector in recent years to attain breakthroughs in local production and increase self-sufficiency rates and achieve food security.It explained that the exhibition serves as a direct gateway to access the latest global technological innovations that support the national trend towards expanding the scope of agricultural production to meet the local demand for food products, in accordance with the objectives of the Qatar National Food Security Strategy.
