The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has warned against using the weight-loss product "Gastro Zero – Phyto Fibre Drink" after laboratory analysis found two undeclared, harmful pharmaceutical substances — sibutramine and sildenafil — making it an adulterated product that could pose a public health risk.In a warning on X, the ministry said its Drug Quality Laboratory detected these substances in the product, despite their absence from the packaging ingredients list. The ministry also warned of the potential health risks associated with its use. It emphasised that the product is not licensed in Qatar and is being promoted on social media platforms. Consequently, the public is urged to exercise caution and refrain from purchasing or using the product, particularly given the lack of assurance regarding its safety and compliance with approved health standards.
