The Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT), represented by Qatar Digital Academy, is organizing the second edition of the Executive Leadership Program in Artificial Intelligence, "AI Business Strategy & Innovation," in collaboration with Microsoft. The Program will be held at INSEAD's Europe Campus in Fontainebleau, France, from 14 to 16 September 2026.The Program will bring together 24 government leaders from ministries and government entities as part of the Ministry's ongoing efforts to develop national capabilities and strengthen the government sector's readiness to harness AI strategically and responsibly to improve institutional performance, enhance services, and support decision-making, MCIT said in a press statement today.Assistant Undersecretary for Digital Industry Affairs at MCIT, Reem Al Mansoori said: "The success of AI adoption efforts does not depend on technology alone; it requires leaders who can understand its potential, set priorities, make the right decisions, and lead teams toward its responsible and effective use. This underscores the importance of the Program in enabling government leaders to draw on new insights and experiences and explore how AI can create tangible and sustainable impact within their institutions."She added that developing the capabilities of government leaders is essential to turning the potential of artificial intelligence into practical applications and solutions aligned with the needs and priorities of government entities, helping to improve efficiency, service delivery, and decision-making.The Program focuses on enabling leaders to move from a general understanding of AI to strategically assessing its opportunities, identifying priority application areas, and building the institutional case for implementation. It also strengthens their understanding of requirements related to implementation, data, governance, risk management, and organizational change. Drawing on use cases and challenges from participating institutions, the Program gives leaders access to global expertise and practices and enables them to exchange experiences with peers from multiple entities and sectors. This helps them adapt the knowledge and tools acquired to their institutions' needs and translate them into practical initiatives and applications.For his part, General Manager of Microsoft Qatar, Ahmad El Dandachi said: "Effectively benefiting from artificial intelligence requires more than simply adopting technologies; it begins with leaders who can link technical capabilities to institutional priorities and translate them into tangible value. We are pleased to continue our collaboration with MCIT through Qatar Digital Academy in this program, which helps equip government leaders with the frameworks and tools needed to identify and evaluate AI opportunities and to lead their implementation in a responsible and sustainable manner."Held for the second consecutive year, the Program builds on the success of its first edition and sustains investment in developing government leaders and connecting global expertise and practices with the needs and priorities of government entities in the State of Qatar, supporting the objectives of the Digital Agenda 2030.
