Sheikh Abdulla bin Zaid Al Mahmoud Islamic Cultural Center, an affiliate of the Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs, continues to provide cultural programs for the communities in Qatar.The programs include introducing Islam and Islamic culture to the communities and holding awareness campaigns and religious lectures which generally aim to present an integrated and balanced image about Islam, its culture and civilisation.Over the past week, the Islamic culture section at the center launched the 3rd summer forum for students within the framework of its programs that primarily target Muslims of non-Arabic speakers, as 1100 male and female students are participating in the forum from many non-Arab nationalities, including India, Pakistan, Malysia, Philippines and other nationalities whose ages range between 12-18-year-old.The Islamic culture section outlined that the forum includes many programs, such as the Prophetic biography program that narrates the first years after the prophetic Muhammad's emigration (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), along with the events and examples learned from this emigration. The forum narrates the history of jurisprudence in Islam, Arabic calligraphy and simplified trainings in this calligraphy, as well as programs in purity and prayer Fiqh.In addition, the program features simplified home meals to train the participants and achieve benefits, as well as connect jurisprudence with the Holy Qur'an, Prophetic Sunnah, faith and ethics to have an overarching and integrated forum that benefits students in this age group.The activities of the 3rd summer forum commenced with an orientation program for students during which they got familiarized with a variety of the program's episodes and learned about the centers activities, its main facilities, nature of its operation and raised some questions about the center and its programs, lauding the summer forum and teachers' efforts, as well as the style the center pursues in education.Meanwhile, basketball and volleyball activities continued with the participation of the Filipino, Indian and Nepali communities and another religious program which featured the engagement of 17 ladies from various English speaking nationalities.
