QOC Secretary General meets delegation from Hangzhou Asian Games Organising Committee

The Qatar Olympic Committee (QOC) Secretary General HE Jassim Rashid al-Buenain met yesterday with a delegation from Asian Games 2022 Hangzhou Organising Committee at the QOC headquarters.The visiting delegation is chaired by Miao Chengchao, Deputy Commander of the Operation Center of the 19th Asian Games Hangzhou along with representatives from different departments of Asian Games 2022 Hangzhou Organising Committee.The Chinese sport delegation’s visit to the QOC was also attended by Chen Yue, Charge d’Aaffires of Chinese Embassy in Qatar.In the meeting, the two sides reviewed aspects of sport cooperation and exchanged experiences, as the visiting delegation was briefed about the extensive experience that Qatar has in hosting major global sport events, most recent of them, FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.The 19th Asian Games will take place in the Chinese city of Hangzhou from September 23 to October 8, 2023, after it was postponed from 2022 due to Covid-19 pandemic.Last week, the organising committee claimed at the Technical Delegates Conference that all the core preparations for the multi-sport event have been completed.The committee provided a wide-ranging update on preparations for the 19th edition of the Games. The sport entry operation has concluded, with a record number of 12,527 athletes from 45 Asian countries and regions now due to be involved. At present, all the 40 sports, 61 disciplines, and 483 events, for the 19th Asian Games have been determined.All 56 competition venues have passed functional acceptance after demonstrating their qualifications to host relevant Asian Games events.
