35th Doha Theater Fest kicks off on 16th

The Ministry of Culture will organise the 35th edition of Doha Theater Festival at the Drama Theater in the Cultural Village Foundation – Katara, under the auspices of HE the Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad al-Thani. The event will take place from May 16-29.Director of the Theater Affairs Center Abdul Rahim al-Siddiqui said the festival is among the oldest festivals in the region, and this year has new features that he hopes will become a tradition to be repeated in the coming years.With the participation of 13 diverse theatrical performances, the festival, he said, will be held with all the elements of theatrical creativity from groups, institutions, amateurs, universities and communities, explaining that a show entitled "50 Years of Theatre” will be held on the opening night of the festival to highlight the march of Qatari theatre since its inception until today.
