The 2nd edition of Ramadan Book Fair will start on Thursday at Darb Al Saai headquarters at Umm Slal under the patronage of HE the Minister of Culture Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad al-Thani.The book fair will continue until April 5 with the participation of nearly 100 publishers and bookstores from Qatar and abroad.Jassim al-Buainain, director of the fair, pointed out that the 2nd edition of the fair has many culture and religious activities for both children and adults, as part of the vision of the Ministry of Culture to enrich the experience of visitors and immerse them in the Ramadan atmosphere.He said there will participation from 48 Qatari publishing houses and bookstores, in addition to 48 other publishers from 14 countries - Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, Kuwait, Egypt, Jordan, UAE, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria, Canada, UK and Australia.The official stressed that the Ministry of Culture is keen to provide Qatari publishers with all support and especially, those specialising in books for children and youth, in both Arabic and English. He noted that the fair is a good opportunity to launch new books.The book fair will host a good number of events and activities, including a Ramadan Majlis (Lounge) with the participation of public and influencers to talk about their careers, achievements and lives.There will be also a series of religious and culture forums in co-operation with the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf), the Ministry of Social Development and Family, and Qatar Reads Initiative.There will also be a number of theatrical performances, workshops and children's activities at the fair, open from 8pm to 12 midnight.
