Following the launch of its Ramadan campaign under the theme ‘Connecting and Giving’, Ooredoo – Qatar’s leading telecommunications operator – has announced a series of sponsorships and CSR activities targeting all age groups to support the community. Ooredoo is the exclusive telecommunications partner of Msheireb Downtown’s Ramadan events this year. Planned events include the Garangao Kids’ Fashion Show, featuring interactive activities, a 360-photography opportunity and a social media competition. The company has partnered with Rafeeq Al-Khair, an initiative aiming to uphold the spirit of humanitarian work among members of society. The initiative will be presented via Live Rafeeq Instagram on a daily basis during the holy month of Ramadan, and feature a daily question in the Rafeeq Al-Khair competition, with prizes up for grabs. Ooredoo is the strategic communications partner of Qatar Red Crescent’s Khairkum Sabeq Festival, supporting the organisation’s efforts to distribute essentials to those in needs. The Meshkat Holy Qur'an competition supported by Ooredoo will see around 400 male and female participants compete to promote good deeds and raise religious awareness. The company’s efforts go beyond borders with its sponsorship of Silatech’s Ramadan Fundraising drive campaign, aiming to support the world’s most vulnerable and marginalised youth through employment and economic opportunities.Under the patronage of HE Sheikh Joaan bin Hamad al-Thani, President of the Qatar Olympic Committee, the Nishan Ooredoo Ramadan Tournament will be organised at the Lusail Shooting Range. The company will launch the Ooredoo League for the Children of Al Freij in partnership with Lusail Sports Club, Qatar Sports for All Federation, Simaisma, Al Daayen Youth Center and Aspire, and target children aged 10 to 14 years. Ooredoo is also launching a Ramadan recycling campaign, enabling Ooredoo shops visitors to donate any electronic devices for distribution to people in need or recycling.
