Assistant FM meets Afghan minister

HE the Assistant Foreign Minister Lolwah bint Rashid AlKhater met on Tuesday with Minister for Public Health of the Afghanistan Caretaker Government Qalandar Ebad, who is visiting the country. During the meeting, they discussed progress in the plan to develop the health field in Afghanistan, in addition to the results of the round-table meeting, which was hosted by Qatar, between a delegation from Afghanistan and two delegations from the World Health Organization (WHO) and the United Nations International Children's Emergency Fund (Unicef). HE the Assistant Foreign Minister stressed Qatar's position in supporting the Afghan people, especially in the health and education sectors. He commended the efforts made by the Afghan Ministry of Public Health despite the scarcity of resources, stressing the importance of the international community's continued support for the health sector in Afghanistan, as well as strengthening the infrastructure that most Afghan cities lack. He also praised the continued work of Afghan women in the health sector, calling for the continuation of developing the human capacities of the health sector in Afghanistan.
