Qatar University has launched, for the first time, the winter event (Fadaa 33), in the presence of a lineup of the university's officials and the public.The activities of Fadaa 33 included a variety of sports and cultural events that accompanied the opening ceremony, including cycling in the Olympic track, a lecture entitled (healthy mind is in a healthy body), and a Taekwondo show, in addition to some activities for children.In remarks on the occasion of launching the winter event, HE President of Qatar University Dr Hassan Rashid Al-Derham, said that this event, which is held for the first time in the university, with the participation of a number of small and medium enterprises that exhibit and sell their products, aims to involve the local community and provide community service to the community members as well as visitors. He pointed out that the event will be organised in the winter period of each year, and will include a number of activities targeting all ages and different groups.He expressed hope that Fadaa 33 would be an addition to the area and a landmark in it, in addition to the Olympic cycling track, which entered the Guinness Book of Records, as the longest cycling track in the world.Director of the Communication and Public Relations Department at the university, Dr Hitmi Al Hitmi, said that the winter event (Fadaa 33), which is organised by the Department of Communication and Public Relations at the university for the first time, features a market that presents a group of commercial projects, in addition to organising a number of various sporting and cultural activities.The site in which the winter event (Fadaa 33) was organised, which is the area surrounding the Olympic track, was prepared by the Public Works Authority (Ashghal). Moreover, the university has cooperated with the Ministry of Social Development and Family, in providing booths and kiosks for "productive families" projects.
