Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelensky stressed that his country will never surrender to the Russian forces that have continued their war on his country since last February.Addressing joint meeting of US Congress in Washington on Wednesday, Zelensky said "Ukraine holds its lines and will never surrender."Zelensky said that Ukraine needs more artillery and ammunition, pointing out that Russians "have much more missiles and planes than we ever have. It's true, but our defence forces stand.""You can speed up our victory. I know it. And it will prove to any potential aggressor that no one can succeed in breaking national borders," he added. The Ukrainian President said that Russians use everything they have against the city of Bakhmut, which he visited before traveling to the United States, but it stands."Against all odds, and doom and gloom, Ukraine did not fall. Ukraine is alive and kicking," Zelensky said.He emphasised that the battle continues and "the Kremlin must be defeated on the battlefield."The Ukrainian leader told the Congress that Europe is now stronger than ever, and that his country will continue the battle until victory is achieved. The Ukrainian president said that the aid approved to help his country fight Russian forces, amounting to tens of billions of dollars, "is not charity, it's investment in the global security and democracy."Zelensky's visit to the US is the first trip outside Ukraine since the war began in February.
