The State of Qatar condemned the storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli extremists, along with the provocative actions carried out under the protection of the occupation forces, describing it as a flagrant violation of international law, an unacceptable provocation of the feelings of millions of Muslims around the world, and a dangerous attempt to impose a new reality in the occupied Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian sanctities.In a statement issued Monday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that Al-Aqsa Mosque is an exclusively Muslim place of worship and that all unilateral measures aimed at altering the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its sanctities are null and void under international law.The Ministry warned that the continuation of such violations and repeated provocations could fuel further violence and escalation in the region, undermining prospects for de-escalation and stability. It renewed its call on the international community to act urgently and compel Israel, as the occupying power, to stop its ongoing violations against the Palestinian people and their holy sites and to comply with relevant international resolutions.The Ministry also reiterated the State of Qatar's firm and supportive stance on the Palestinian cause and the steadfastness of the brotherly Palestinian people, based on ending the occupation and enabling the Palestinian people to attain their legitimate rights, foremost among them the establishment of an independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

The Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) organized an awareness campaign on the occasion of World No Tobacco Day 2026 under the slogan, "Don't be deceived, it's more dangerous than you think!", as part of its ongoing efforts to raise community awareness about the risks associated with the use of tobacco and nicotine products in all their forms and to correct common misconceptions and false beliefs related to these products.The campaign aimed to educate community members about the health risks resulting from the use of tobacco and nicotine products, highlight the negative impact of these products on individual and community health, and encourage the adoption of healthy lifestyles free from tobacco and nicotine products.The campaign included a variety of awareness activities and events, including the publication of educational messages through the Ministry of Public Health's social media platforms and the organization of an awareness event focused on correcting common misconceptions and false beliefs related to tobacco and nicotine products. The event also highlighted the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle that includes healthy eating and regular physical activity.The campaign also included awareness lectures delivered to school students to enhance their understanding of the risks associated with smoking and nicotine products. In addition, the Ministry participated in several events organized by various entities across the country as part of joint efforts to raise community awareness about the harms of these products and reduce the prevalence of their use.The campaign also involved collaboration with several shopping malls that have received the "Diamond Level" classification under the Health Promoting Shopping Mall Project, contributing to the expansion of awareness efforts and the promotion of community awareness regarding the risks of tobacco and nicotine products.MOPH reaffirmed its commitment to continuing the implementation of awareness and preventive programs and initiatives aimed at reducing the use of tobacco and nicotine products and promoting healthy behaviors among all members of society. These efforts contribute to achieving public health goals, enhancing quality of life, and building a healthier community. 

 QatarEnergy announced on Sunday fuel prices in the State of Qatar for June 2026, with diesel and 95-octane gasoline (super) maintained at current levels, while 91-octane gasoline (premium) was increased.QatarEnergy set prices of Diesel at QAR 2.05 per liter, Super Gasoline (95) at QAR 2.10 per liter, and Premium Gasoline (91) at QAR 2.00 per liter. 

Primary health centers operating on a rotating basis received over 18,700 patients during the Eid Al-Adha holiday, with more than 1,000 virtual medical consultations provided through the 16000 hotline, announced Primary Health Care Corporation (PHCC). Family medicine clinics at the 21 health centers that operated during the Eid Al-Adha holiday served approximately 7,255 patients, while general dental clinics received 888 patients. The number of cases received at the urgent care units in 15 health centers reached 8,566. The PHCC explained that the health centers also provided specialized clinic services during the holiday, including ophthalmology, otolaryngology (ENT), dermatology, premarital screening, optometry, mental health, and physiotherapy services, in addition to pharmacy, radiology, and laboratory services. The ophthalmology clinic received 235 patients, the ENT clinic 216, and the dermatology clinic 224. The optometry clinic saw 166 patients, while the mental health and integrated mental health clinics received 24. Physiotherapy services were provided to 191 patients, and the premarital screening clinic received 23 patients.PHCC's Community Call Center provided approximately 1,032 virtual medical consultations (both video and voice) to patients who contacted the 16000 hotline without prior appointments. This type of consultation ensures that patients with urgent cases receive the necessary medical care and are prescribed medications by a specialist as quickly as possible.The Primary Health Care Corporation emphasized that all health centers are committed to providing healthcare services without delay, especially during holidays and seasonal breaks, and to fully meeting the needs of all patients.

 Citizens turned out in large numbers to bid farewell to HE Abdullah bin Hamad al-Attiyah as he was laid to rest in Al Kharaitiyat Cemetery, northern Doha.He passed away on Wednesday in London, after a distinguished public service career spanning more than five decades, leaving behind a legacy widely recognised for shaping Qatar’s modern energy sector and its international diplomatic standing.Born in Qatar on December 5, 1952, Al Attiyah began his professional journey in 1972 at the Ministry of Finance and Petroleum. Early in his career, he served from 1973 to 1986 as Head of International and Public Relations at the ministry, building foundational experience in international energy relations and government administration.Between 1986 and 1989, he served as Director of the Office of the Ministry of Interior, before becoming Acting Minister of Finance and Petroleum from 1989 to 1992. In 1992, he was appointed Minister of Energy and Industry, as well as Chief Executive and Managing Director of Qatar Petroleum, marking a pivotal stage in his leadership of Qatar’s energy development.His influence extended far beyond national borders. In 1993, he served as President of OPEC, contributing to key decisions on oil production coordination among member states. He also held membership in OPEC’s production quota compliance committee. Throughout his career, he played a central role in advancing Qatar’s position within global energy markets.Al-Attiyah’s international leadership continued with his election in 2006 as President of the United Nations Commission on Sustainable Development. In 2012, he chaired the 18th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP18) in Doha, a landmark event that produced the “Doha Gateway” outcomes, including the extension of the Kyoto Protocol and important commitments on climate finance and support for developing countries. The conference also helped establish a roadmap toward the Paris Agreement adopted in 2015.In 2009, he was elected President of the Gas Exporting Countries Forum (GECF), where he contributed to strengthening the organisation and securing Doha as its permanent headquarters. He also served as Acting Secretary-General of the forum during its transitional period.Domestically, he was appointed Deputy Prime Minister in 2003 and later Deputy Prime Minister in 2007. In 2011, he became President of the Amiri Diwan, and subsequently held key positions including Head of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority and Chairman of the State Planning Committee. His final role was Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Al Attiyah Foundation.Over the course of his career, he received numerous honours, including Qatar’s Independence Collar awarded by the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, the Order of Orange-Nassau from The Netherlands, and Japan’s Order of the Rising Sun. He also received honourary doctorates from Texas A&M University and the University of Tor Vergata in Italy, in recognition of his contributions to governance, transparency, and global energy policy. 

Qatar’s beach volleyball duo of Cherif Younousse and Ahmed Tijan qualified for the round of 16 at the Ostrava Elite16 in Czech Republic after securing their second victory of the tournament on Friday. The Qatari pair defeated France’s Elouan Chouikh and Joadel Genevieve-Gardoque in straight sets 21-15, 21-17 in their third Group Two match to continue their impressive run in the Beach Pro Tour event. Cherif and Ahmed had earlier suffered a narrow three-set defeat to American duo Taylor Crabb and Andrew Benesh in the second round after a closely fought contest that ended 21-16, 20-22, 15-11. The Qatari team had opened their campaign with a straight-sets victory over Latvia’s Bedritis and Rinkevics in the first round. Cherif and Ahmed will next face Sweden’s young duo Jacob Hölting Nilsson and Elmer Andersson in the round of 16 on Saturday.
