The General Retirement and Social Insurance Authority is organizing the 52nd meeting of the permanent technical committee for civil retirement and social security bodies in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region, in Doha, which begins its work on Monday, and extends until Oct. 5.

The delegation of the authority is headed by the Director of contributors department Ali Abdullah Al-Kuwari, in the presence of members of the Technical Committee at the meeting, which includes on its agenda fifteen items, most notably the initiative to review and update the unified system for extending insurance protection, the initiative to update a comparative study of civil retirement and social insurance systems, and the electronic link initiative between Civil retirement and social insurance agencies.

The meeting will discuss several other initiatives, including training and rehabilitation, the unified annual awareness campaign, the initiative for coordination and participation in international events, the development of collection mechanisms, procedures for employers to pay contributions, presentation of statistical indicators for the application of the unified system to extend insurance protection, and targeting workers who are not registered in the unified system according to direct coordination.

The Authority will hold an introductory meeting between representatives of the retirement and social security agencies of the Arab Gulf states and employers in the State of Qatar, regarding the unified system for extending insurance protection, to answer inquiries from Gulf citizens and employers regarding contributions and related insurance rights, on Wednesday, Oct. 5.
