The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) has announced that the fans attending the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 using the Match Day Shuttle service can now apply for the mandatory Hayya Card to attend the tournament's matches, the official Qatar News Agency reports.
The Match Day Shuttle allows fans who are not staying in Qatar to fly to the country, watch a game of their choice and return to their point of origin within 24 hours.
The services are being offered by Qatar Airways and a host of carriers in the region, namely Saudia, flydubai, Air Arabia, Kuwait Airways and Oman Air.
The Match Day Hayya Card will provide its holders a number of benefits, including entry to Qatar, entry to stadiums (with a valid match ticket) and access to free public transport.
The Hayya Card website and mobile app can now accept applications from fans using Match Day Shuttle services. Fans will simply need to provide their travel details in order to receive their Hayya Card.
Every FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 ticket holder, including Qatar residents, will need to apply for a Hayya Card.
Recently, Saeed al-Kuwari, executive director of the Hayya platform, told Al Kass TV channel that starting from November, entry to Qatar will be limited to those having Hayya Cards, except for residents and Qatari citizens, throughout the tournament.
The rule applies to all visitors from all countries, including non-resident GCC citizens. Hayya card holders will be allowed to remain in Qatar until January 23, 2023, and can enter and exit the country with this throughout the duration of the tournament. The holders of any match ticket will enjoy the benefits of Hayya card and can stay in the country throughout the duration on condition of having available accommodation.
Those who have a Qatari residency and Qatari citizens are free to exit and enter the country at any time throughout the event.
