The officials briefed the attendants on the various related services of the MoL and how to easily access them, especially through the online platform of the Ministry or through the various services centres across the country. Accordingly, the officials engaged in an open discussion with the companies representatives to answer their questions and respond to their suggestions and the related issues facing them in their daily transactions.
The officials stressed that all the officials concerned at MoL are very keen to maintain active and open communication with the employers and heads of different expatriate communities to raise awareness on the related topics and encourage openness on resolving issues that could normally arise between the worker and the employer by way of negotiations to avoid any escalations without undermining the rights of any party to the contract.
However, in case of unresolved disputes, troubles or difficulty facing either the worker or the employer or both of them, the officials affirmed that MoL would be always available and easily accessible to resolve such issues according to the applicable laws in the country.
Eventually, the representatives of MoL’s departments reviewed the most important tasks carried out by the Ministry, such as organising the work environment and achieving a balance between employers and workers, the facilities provided to entrepreneurs, and the rules that must be observed in order to ensure the progress of work and benefit from e-services via the website, which constitute a big leap in facilitating the transactions provided to employers and entrepreneurs.
The workshop tackled many topics, including work procedures, wage protection system, and the most important requirements and procedures required to practice labour-related business among others. The companies' representatives and business owners who attended appreciated the initiative of MoL, stressing that such meetings are highly instrumental in improving the business and work environment in Qatar and would open for them more fields of cooperation with the Ministry.
