On the sidelines of the Qatar Economic Forum 2022 in co-operation with Bloomberg, the state of Qatar signed an agreement with the Czech Republic on the avoidance of double taxation pertaining to income taxes and prevention of tax evasion and avoidance, in addition to a protocol to amend an agreement on the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of financial evasion in relation to taxes.
The agreement was signed by HE the Minister of Finance Ali bin Ahmed al-Kuwari for the Qatari side, while the Minister of Finance Zbynek Stanjura signed for the Czech Republic side.
The agreement intends to eliminate double taxation between the signatory governments, and further encourage trade exchange, in addition to increasing investment opportunities between governments, through individuals and companies, as well as promoting of international standards of transparency through the exchange of documented financial information.
The agreement comprises items related to the field of maritime and air transport and joint projects, which come in light of strengthening bilateral economic relations between the two countries.
