Burkina Faso's Minister of Foreign Affairs Olivia Rouamba praised Qatar Charity's (QC) efforts in helping those in need in the country, affirming her readiness to provide all the necessary facilities to QC for implementing projects in the country.
This came during a visit paid by Nawaf Abdullah al-Hammadi, CEO's assistant for the International Operations and Programmes sector at Qatar Charity, to Burkina Faso where he visited many projects of QC, learnt about the volume of work, and assessed the developmental and humanitarian needs that should be met.
During his visit, al-Hammadi met with many ministers, local officials and the representatives of civil society associations and humanitarian organisations.



During his meeting with Rouamba, al-Hammadi discussed the humanitarian situation in Burkina Faso and co-operation on issues of mutual interest, affirming Qatar Charity's readiness to enhance co-operation, implement charitable projects and support humanitarian efforts and activities in Burkina Faso.
Burkina Faso’s Minister of Foreign Affairs praised QC's efforts and vital projects for its humanitarian mission of helping the poor and contributing to community development in Burkina Faso.
He also met with the interim president of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (UEMOA), and discussed how to consolidate partnership and co-operation between Qatar Charity and UEMOA. At the end of the meeting, the two parties agreed to expand their co-operation to include various humanitarian sectors to serve mutual goals and to co-ordinate humanitarian efforts for the benefit of the needy and marginalised.
Besides, al-Hammadi met with Minister of National Education and Literacy, Lionel Bilgo, and discussed ways to renew the memorandum of understanding previously signed with the ministry with the aim of implementing projects in the field of education.
Al-Hammadi concluded his tour by visiting many families of orphans sponsored by QC in the capital, Ouagadougou. He also visited some completed construction projects. The number of those sponsored by Qatar Charity in Burkina Faso has reached more than 5,900. The sponsored are poor families, orphans, students, and people with special needs.
During the visit, 53 social housing units with the necessary facilities were approved for the poorest families.
