Qatar Airways is partnering with key GCC carriers to launch match day shuttle service to Qatar during the World Cup 2022, Qatar Airways announced during a press conference Thursday.

“It is my pleasure to announce that in cooperation with Fly Dubai, Kuwait Airways, Oman Air, and Saudi Airlines, we will be collectively hosting day trip shuttle flights from Dubai, Muscat, Kuwait City, Jeddah & Riyadh for fans who have secured FIFA match tickets,” Qatar Airways Group CEO HE Akbar al-Baker said.

He added that Etihad, Air Arabia may also join the Gulf Arab Airlines Agreement to organise shuttle service to Qatar.

As per the announcement, total flights per day will be as follows:

* Fly Dubai will offer up to 60 daily flights with 30 daily rotations bringing up to 2,700 fans per day.

* Kuwait Airways are set to operate a total of 20 flights with 10 rotation providing enough capacity for up to 1,700 fans daily.

* Oman Air will offer up to 48 flights with 24 rotations, bringing up to 3,400 fans per say.

* Saudi Airlines will operate up to 40 daily flights between Riyadh and Jeddah with 20 rotations, flying upto 5,000 fans a day.  

“We even have additional relationship developing with Oman Air and Oman Tourism to promote destinations mutually,” Qatar Airways Group CEO said.

These flights will provide ticket holders in the countries of the region with a unique and exclusive opportunity during the World Cup period to enjoy the atmosphere of the World Cup without having to stay in Qatar, HE al-Baker said.
