Barwa Real Estate Group's subsidiary Barahat Al Janoub Real Estate Company has signed a six-month lease contract with the Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC), valued at QR141.52mn.
Barwa said in a statement that the purpose of the contract is to lease all housing units in the Barahat Al Janoub project, which is currently being developed by Barahat Al Janoub Company in Al Wakra, for the said period starting August 1, the official Qatar News Agency reported.
The project comprises 1,404 fully furnished houses. Each unit will consist of four rooms at each level, providing a capacity of 16,848 rooms.
It is expected that this contract will contribute to increasing the group’s operating income during the lease term.
A Barwa spokesman said there is no conflict of interest between the contracting parties.
Barahat Al Janoub has 126,938sqm of green areas, 425,235sqm of driveway/walkway/parking area and a total built up area of 754,674sqm.
The construction of Barahat Al Janoub was awarded to a Qatari contracting company, UrbaCon Trading and Contracting (UCC). Construction works of the city was launched in late 2020 and is expected to be completed soon.
