Articulate to Ascend, the Division A Toastmasters Annual Conference (TACA) held recently saw 30 speakers vying for 12 awards in four contest categories.
Division A director Jayakumar Menon welcomed the audience.
Assistant director and TACA chair Niloufer Samal emphasised the importance of conferences as an effective tool for adult learning, to hone the development of public speaking and leadership skills.
She lauded the efforts of the TACA team that included Girish Jain, Yoosaf Vannarath, Trixie Lee Santos, Priya Bhedi, Fritz O’Neil Cabulinas, Joahnna Mae Escoba, George Philip Leonardo, Subair Padavath, Shailaja Seri, Namrata Tawde, Kesavraj Sampathkumar, Sundar Vadivelu, Aslam Sange, Dewaki Nandan Tibrewal, Sirajuddin Mohammed, Vikash Sarada, Siddique P, Sherwin Olimpo, Genesis Guerzon, Jayson Aquino, and Michael Miranda.
The chief judges were Rammohan Rai, Safeer Azeez and Sunita Saini.
District 116 director Manzoor Moideen, programme quality director Rajesh VC, club growth director Ravishankar, and incoming region advisor Rajeswar Sundaresan graced the event and felicitated the contestants and the organisers.
A keynote speech by Dr Shauli Mukherjee (director, Adamas School), and edutainment by Priyadarshini Kinge were among the other highlights.
The winners, in the order of first, second and third, respectively: Evaluation speech - Singaraju K S, Addalin Rajan, Kamlesh Tibrewal. Humorous speech - Milton Swaminathan, Singaraju K S, Swetha Raaghuraman. Table topics - Addalin Rajan, Singaraju KS, Pooja Bhatt. International speech: Manjusha Kale, Grace Moran, Singaraju K S.
The first place winners of each category move to District 116 annual contests on May 13 and 14, 2022.
