Qatar Chamber chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani has lauded the staging of this year’s edition of the Qatar International Agriculture Exhibition (AgriteQ 2022), saying the event is “an important platform” to explore investment opportunities.
On the sidelines of AgriteQ 2022, Sheikh Khalifa said the event offers the latest innovations and the opportunity to explore the investment opportunities available in the agricultural sector, which is “one of the most vital sectors” that attract foreign investments.
Sheikh Khalifa stressed that the Qatar Chamber’s support for the exhibition as Bronze Sponsor is part of its keenness to support investments in the agriculture sector to help boost Qatar’s food security.
Also speaking on Qatar’s food security during the event, Dr Masoud Jarallah al-Marri, the director of the Food Security Department at the Ministry of Municipality, underscored the importance of AgriteQ 2022 and EnviroteQ.
In an interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), al-Marri said both are important events in terms of facing global challenges and achieving food security by providing and adopting modern agricultural technologies at a reasonable cost.
He added that the two exhibitions provide great opportunities for exchanging expertise and experiences between Qatari agricultural companies and their counterparts in other countries and learn about modern technologies used in the agricultural field, such as those related to alternative energy and techniques to increase production.
Al-Marri said AgriteQ 2022 is not limited to displaying agricultural products but also includes a review of partnership and cooperation mechanisms. He said many participating companies are keen to promote their production and work techniques in other countries by making deals and partnerships with their counterparts.
He explained that Qatari agricultural companies are interested in entering into partnerships with foreign companies that have proven their effectiveness and the success of their production experiences, and not only buying ready-made products.
Also present during AgriteQ 2022’s opening ceremony was Qatar Chamber first vice chairman Mohamed bin Towar al-Kuwari and second vice chairman Rashid bin Hamad al-Athba.
Through its pavilion at the exhibition, Qatar Chamber aims to inform visitors of the services it provides to the private sector and its plans to encourage Qatari businessmen to invest in the agricultural and security food sectors.
