Qatar Charity (QC) has distributed winter essentials to 500 workers in Qatar, while another 700 workers are expected to receive them from the QC in the coming days.
The distribution of winter essentials comes as part of Qatar Charity’s continued winter drive, “Warmth and Peace”, a press statement notes.
The winter essentials were distributed, in co-operation with the Ministry of Municipality, to Al Daayen and Al Shamal municipality workers, as well as to company workers in Al Sheehaniya and in other places of the country.
The winter essentials distributed by Qatar Charity to workers included warm clothes, jackets and blankets, which will help keep them properly warm, especially in the early morning and late nights during the winter.
QC Programme and Community Development department director Fatima Jumah al-Mohannadi underlined the keenness of Qatar Charity to provide its services to various sections of the community.
As part of its attention towards workers in the country, Qatar Charity organises a variety of programmes and activities for them, and provides winter essentials to help them meet their winter needs.
She added that distributing the winter essentials to workers is a gesture of social solidarity with the workers and an appreciation of their work.
During the winter essentials distribution, Al Daayen Municipality director Rashid al-Khayarin thanked Qatar Charity for supporting the workers.
He noted that the QC "made them happy by distributing the winter essentials to them, as it always does, in recognition of their tremendous efforts and significant contributions to the success of many projects and the beautification of public parks and places within the country".
Hassan Khalifa al-Faihani, director of the Services Affairs Department at Al Shamal Municipality, praised Qatar Charity’s continuous support for workers and meeting their winter needs by distributing necessary winter items to them.
The workers expressed their happiness at receiving the winter essentials.
Delighted with the winter bag provided by the QC, Mohamed Rostom said it will help him stay warm in cold conditions, especially these days, and added that he hopes for the QC’s continued support for workers in the country.
Mohamed Siraj thanked benefactors in Qatar for helping to keep them warm during this cold winter.
