HE the Speaker of the Shura Council Hassan bin Abdullah Al Ghanem met on Wednesday with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Turkey Mustafa Sentop, who is visiting the country.

During the meeting, they reviewed the existing bilateral relations between the two brotherly countries in the parliamentary field and ways of enhancing and developing them, in addition to discussing several issues related to parliamentary affairs.



Following the meeting, the Shura Council and the Turkish Grand National Assembly signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to increase parliamentary cooperation between the two countries.

HE the Speaker Al Ghanem and Turkish Assembly Speaker Sentop signed the MoU.

On this occasion, HE Al Ghanem stressed that the MoU will contribute to strengthening the existing parliamentary relations between the two brotherly countries, deepening cooperation relations and taking them to broader horizons, and coordinating common positions in international forums. He indicated that the signing of the MoU reflects the depth of relations between the two countries in various fields.

The MoU signed today aims to coordinate efforts, positions, and visions in international parliamentary forums on issues of common interest. Also, it will work to strengthen parliamentary communication channels between the two parties, exchange parliamentary knowledge and experiences in the legislative, supervisory, and administrative fields, and deepen understanding and coordination on joint initiatives to submit them in regional and international parliamentary unions to support common issues in the interest of the two brotherly countries.

HE the Deputy Speaker of the Shura Council Dr. Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti met several members of the Council, and the Ambassador of Turkey to the State of Qatar Dr. Mustafa Goksu attended the meeting and the MoU signing.
