His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani participated along with his brothers Their Majesties and Highnesses leaders of GCC countries and heads of delegations in the opening session of the 42nd session of the Supreme Council of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC), which was held on Tuesday evening at Diriyah Palace in Riyadh in the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
The session was attended by a number of members of the official delegation accompanying the Amir, a number of princes, and members of the accompanying official delegations.
It was also attended by GCC Secretary-General Dr Nayef bin Falah al-Hajraf.

His Highness the Amir attended the dinner banquet held yesterday by his brother Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, in honour of Their Majesties and Highnesses leaders of GCC countries and heads of delegations participating in the 42nd GCC summit at Diriyah Palace in Riyadh.
Earlier upon arrival at King Khalid International Airport to head Qatar's delegation to the GCC summit , His Highness the Amir and the accompanying delegation were welcomed by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud.
The Amir and the accompanying delegation were welcomed also by Acting Governor of Riyadh Region Prince Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, GCC Secretary General Dr al-Hajraf and a number of senior officials.
The Amir was also received by Qatar's Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Bandar bin Mohammed al-Attiyah, and Saudi Ambassador to Qatar Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Abdullah al-Farhan al-Saud.

The Amir expressed his satisfaction with the important outcomes of the session, which will help enhance the council's work and realise the aspirations of its peoples, wishing them good health and wellness and the brotherly Saudi people further progress under their wise leadership.
