* Cabinet lauds results of 7th Session of Supreme Strategic Committee between Qatar and Turkey
* Covid-19 measures to continue
The Cabinet has approved a draft resolution of the Minister of Commerce and Industry to amend some provisions of the Minister of Business and Trade Resolution No 169 of 2011, to form a committee to set the maximum prices and profit rates, Qatar News Agency reports. This came at the Cabinet's regular meeting held at the Amiri Diwan Wednes, which was chaired by HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz al-Thani.
Following the meeting, HE the Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Mohamed bin Abdullah al-Sulaiti issued a statement giving the details of the proceedings. At the outset of the meeting, the Cabinet praised the results of the work of the 7th Session of the Qatar-Turkey Supreme Strategic Committee, which was held in Doha on Tuesday under the chairmanship of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, and the outcomes of the Qatari-Turkish summit talks, which reflected the characteristics of the two countries' relations in terms of co-operation, understanding and common interest in developing their strategic partnership for the benefit of their two brotherly peoples.
The Cabinet affirmed that the achievements of the committee, including the agreements and memorandums of understanding that were signed during it, and the orientations, visions and positions contained in the Joint Communique, whether on the level of bilateral co-operation or towards regional and international issues, opened new horizons for the two countries to strengthen relations and develop co-operation in the next stage, and co-ordinate joint efforts for peace, stability and development in the region and the world.
The Cabinet also expressed its aspiration to the meeting of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani with Crown Prince, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of Saudi Arabia Prince Mohamed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz al-Saud, during his official visit to Qatar, the convening of the sixth meeting of the Qatari-Saudi Coordination Council, and the leaders' discussions in Doha on ways to support and develop the strong relations between the two countries and the development of joint Gulf action in addition to the most prominent regional and international developments.
The Cabinet was briefed by HE the Minister of Public Health on the latest developments to limit the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19).
The Cabinet affirmed the continuation of the precautionary measures that have been taken to combat the pandemic.
After that, the Cabinet considered the topics on the agenda as follows:
Approval of:
1- A draft memorandum of understanding between the governments of Qatar and Kuwait in charitable and humanitarian work.
2- A draft security co-operation agreement between the Internal Security Force (Lekhwiya) in Qatar and the National Guard Forces Command of Russia (the Russian Gendarmerie).
3- The Cabinet reviewed the results of the Conference of Parties (COP 26) held in Glasgow (Scotland—November 2021) and took the appropriate decision regarding it.
4- The Cabinet, through the presentation made by HE the President of the Planning and Statistics Authority, was briefed on the progress made in implementing the strategic plans of government agencies for the third quarter (July-September 2021), the progress of programmes and projects at the overall level of ministries and at the level of each entity, and the most important outputs and the progress made in implementing the projects of those plans, their objectives, the most prominent challenges, and the recommendations issued in this regard, where HE the Prime Minister directed the ministries to work on implementing appropriate solutions to meet those challenges and co-operate with the Planning and Statistics Authority regarding the follow-up of the implementation of projects.
