The Ministry of Commerce & Industry (MoCI), in co-operation with the Office of the Technical Secretariat to Combat Harmful Practices in International Trade of the GCC States, organised a two-day workshop on combating harmful practices in international trade. The workshop, which gathered the participation of a number of authorities affected by the issue, highlighted the definition of some terms related to harmful practices in international trade and the types of these actions and the World Trade Organisation (WTO) principles and agreements pertaining to detrimental behaviour in commercial activities.
The workshop also touched on the procedures for filing a complaint and investigation to serve the local and Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) industry. It additionally featured the mechanisms of protection against harmful practices in international trade and the GCC industry under the Unified Law for Anti-Dumping and Compensatory and Preventive Measures for Countries of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, and its implementing regulations.
