Dr Abdulla al-Kubaisi, former president of Qatar University and the first person in Qatar to receive the Covid-19 vaccine in December 2020, has urged eligible people to get their Covid-19 vaccine booster dose. "On September 15, I was honoured to be one of the first people in Qatar to receive the Covid-19 vaccine booster dose. As with my first two vaccine doses, the booster vaccine was straightforward and painless, and I have had no side effects since receiving the vaccine," he said in a statement posted by the Ministry of Public Health online. "I am happy to have received my vaccine booster dose and to have high levels of protection against the virus. I encourage anyone who is eligible to have the vaccine booster dose as soon as possible," Dr al-Kubaisi added.
