Qatari Diar held a workshop at the Diplomatic Club Wednesday to enhance health, safety and environment (HSE) standards and promote awareness of the importance of health, safety and workers’ rights among developers, investors and partners in Lusail City.
The workshop was held in co-operation with the Ministry of Labour and International Labour Organisation (ILO), in the presence of officials from the company and representatives from ILO and the ministry, as well as a number of partners, developers, investors, contractors and service providers in Lusail City.





The main objectives of the workshop were to spread awareness and shed light on the current labour law and raise awareness of health and safety requirements for workers at construction sites. This was done to ensure the protection of workers’ rights and the application of the minimum wage as well as the Wage Protection System.
Fahad Abdul Latif al-Jahrami, head of the Project Delivery Sector at Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company, said: “We are constantly working to improve safety and health standards for all workers in Lusail City, whether for the company’s projects or with developers, investors and partners.”
Jaber Ali al-Jadnah al-Marri from the Labour Inspection Department added, “The Ministry of Labour is keen to communicate directly with companies and help them in ensuring workers' rights and informing them about the labour law and procedures. The government does not spares any effort to develop laws and procedures to guarantee the rights of both companies and workers.”
